What's new?

There's the new design, upgraded platform, nice first-time visitor welcoming message, nicer dates, easier navigation (people can actually find my contact details now), comment email notification and more. No point repeating myself - check out this post, http://driveactivated.com/blog/archive/2007/07/28/drive-activated-2-0.aspx.

One thing I forgot to mention in the blog post was that I removed the photos section too - I didn't get much use out of it.  

Why version 2.0?

Got sick of the old one really. It was my first real website design, and like all first efforts, there's bound to be something you don't like. Don't be surprised if I change the design in a few months again - this is like my web design playground.

Plus this new design is a culmination of my experience on the net over the last few months, from reading other blogs and looking at other website designs. This is partly why I decided to move navigation to the bottom of the screen, and hide the sidebar boxes, promoting the content to the top and the first thing the viewer sees.

There's also more attention to minor details, like human dates (e.g. '2 minutes ago'), and instead of '1 comment(s)' it writes '1 comment', but '2 comments'. More icons everywhere help make things easier to identify and find, and generally make things look better too.

Well, you don't really have much choice, so enjoy it, or else!
