This blog's been quiet even though I had returned from HK because I went for another trip

. This time I went to Merimbula with some mates for a week - chilled out, watched movies, drank, ate, slept, had a great time.
(gory picture and descriptions coming up)
More importantly,
I caught my first fish! Its apparently a black fish, tasted alright. Learnt how to kill the fish too - creepy the first time as its still moving when you cut into it and then snap its neck, but I got over it, dunno but the next fish I killed didn't bother me that much anymore

.
Its something to add to my life's achievements list, and while I'm not crazy enough to wake up at 4:30am to go fishing just yet, I don't think I'd mind doing it again. There's still much, much, much more to learn...

P.S. is it just me, or is it weird that there's so much research, knowledge and equipment for one animal? Granted there are thousands of different varieties of fish, but its still odd that when you walk into a tackle shop, there are so many different types of jigs, hooks, bait etc. specifically for particular species of fish. Nothing like this exists for any other animal...
