I'm in the process of redesigning this blog because well, I'm over this design. I know it was only a few months ago, but it just doesn't feel designed right, something just makes it feel amateur-ish. I am pretty much an amateur at this, but that's not the point. I reckon I can do better, so I'm trying again.
I'm also adding some new things too, touching up some other things and fixing up the site so it validates properly with the XHTML spec, for the benefit of Google, Technorati and other spidering sites.
Anyway, I'm trying to work out what people prefer - dark backgrounds, or light backgrounds?
I personally prefer dark backgrounds, because its less tiring on your eyes, especially when you look at it for a while. In fact, some people go as far as creating word processing applications that emulate the old green-on-black look, like
Darkroom.
Speaking of backgrounds, I found
this funny article today - extreme environmentalists crack me up sometimes (like the crazy Socialist Alternative posters around uni).
Environmental awareness site TreeHugger blasted Google's predominantly white web page because it uses more electricity to display on a CRT monitor.
...
However, the environmental site does not appear to
swallow its own advice, as it has a fair amount of white space on its
own website.
