The inaugural STIRR dinner was held on the 6th December in Sydney - a gathering of Australians (those remaining in Australia...) involved in the next gen web. It was the who's who of Australian web 2.0, with the guys from Tangler, Remember the Milk, Atlassian, Student Face, bluepulse and more attending.
Cam Reilly has put together a short clip of interviews on his g'day world podcast, direct link: http://gdayworld.thepodcastnetwork.com/2006/12/08/gday-world-video-edition-stirr-sydney-dec-2006/. Its well worth checking out, if only to see a bunch of nerds behaving badly

Damn, it would've been awesome to be there and mingle - they're probably the up-and-coming movers and shakers of Australia's developing IT innovation industry. The next big thing could well be coming out from them.
One day, one day, I'll be there with the funky new web 2.5 app that's gonna kickarse and every one's gonna be addicted to it...fingers crossed
.
P.S. no, I didn't just make up the web 2.5 buzzword - google it. Essentially, rather than you sitting in front of the computer in order to use cool web apps/content, you're gonna be able to access it via your always-on net to always-on-you devices. Its definitely gonna be the next big thing.
If I had my way, computers as you know them will disappear, and instead you will be surrounded by tiny computer terminals (all nicely designed and integrated in to your surroundings - no more ugly windows boxes anymore) all performing individual tasks, available anywhere, and all being in-the-loop with each other, with access to all your content - article, music, video, podcasts etc. - in a fast, secure, managed, orderly fashion. Now finally, we'd be able to do anything, anywhere, anytime. What 3 and Telstra are doing is a start, but there's a LOT more that can be done.
