37signals have got a blog post up about
the Paradox of the active user.
"Spending hours learning to use a new gadget is the last thing most of
us want to do. The ability to take a product out of the box and just
have it work, without the need to read a manual for hours, is now high
on most consumers’ priority lists when deciding on a purchase."
Hopefully the new found shift in UX, or user experience, will finally
change the century-old habits of gadget & gizmo companies.
Mmmmm... the day when I'm no longer the tech support go-to guy for everyone, and when I don't ever have to say
RTFM ever again...
