Drive:Activated logo
hi there!

I see you've stumbled on to my humble home on the net, Drive:Activated. My name's Sam, I'm an ambitious and driven uni student, residing in Melbourne, Australia, wanting to make my mark on our world. This is my site, which is mainly just my blog and some other bits. There's no definite theme to my blog, just anything that interests me, and currently that's web trends, startups, ideas and cool stuff. Check it out, leave me a comment, click on 'Who is this?' to find out more about me, or drop me a line by clicking on 'Let's Talk'. Hope you enjoy it!

Got a CS paper due tomorrow? Try SCIgen

SCIgen is an automatic, customised CS paper generator. But unlike others who produce meaningless crap, this one actually spits out stuff that's somewhat feasible until you read closely. It even cites sources!

Here's the abstract from mine:

Towards the Visualization of E-Commerce

Samuel Lai

Abstract

The electrical engineering approach to Moore's Law is defined not only by the synthesis of the World Wide Web, but also by the technical need for Smalltalk. in our research, we confirm the analysis of hierarchical databases that made visualizing and possibly evaluating write-ahead logging a reality, which embodies the typical principles of algorithms. Log, our new system for systems, is the solution to all of these obstacles.
Tell me that doesn't look partially feasible at first glance. There's enough jargon and big words in there to fool most people, either because they don't understand or can't be bothered working out what it means.

The entire paper's here if you want to read it.

Speaking of generators though, here are some useful ones. If you ever need a large chunk of text, try the lorem ipsum generator. Or check this blog post out if you need random but feasible contact details for demoing/testing an app.
