Christmas is creepily less than 28 hours away as I write this (still got some presents to buy, yikes!), and for most, its a time of giving and celebrating. At Yahoo!, company gifts to employees is a long time tradition, even as Yahoo! nudges the 12,000 employee mark. This year though, instead of the material gifts they've received previously,
they got 100 bucks to donate to whoever they want to, along with an internal site to share their reasons. What a great idea for Christmas (and more so because if I were working there, I'm not quite sure whether I'd wear a Yahoo! jacket to go down to the shops and use a purple Yahoo! gym bag...). Interesting way of weaving in web 2.0 too

On a completely unrelated note (except for the theme of Christmas), here's an
awesome Christmas celebration idea. Sounds like a great company to work for - I guess its the startup spirit, but that was sure elaborate, hell, must've taken ages to prepare and to shut that many people up for so long would've been a big feat. Then again,
tanglers seem to be pretty good at keeping secrets; they still have their home page that offers nothing but "an innovative group interaction and communication platform", and I'll bet they love teasing readers with the small clues on their
blog just to keep them wondering...
