hi there!

I see you've stumbled on to my humble home on the net, Drive:Activated. My name's Sam, I'm an ambitious and driven uni student, residing in Melbourne, Australia, wanting to make my mark on our world. This is my site, which is mainly just my blog and some other bits. There's no definite theme to my blog, just anything that interests me, and currently that's web trends, startups, ideas and cool stuff. Check it out, leave me a comment, click on 'Who is this?' to find out more about me, or drop me a line by clicking on 'Let's Talk'. Hope you enjoy it!

It's Wii day!

Yes, the Nintendo Wii has been launched in Australia, and unlike some other consoles, it wasn't a couple of months later. Congratulations Nintendo for pulling this off and not leaving us Aussies in the dark ages just that much longer (yes, I'm referring to you Sony and Microsoft who both delayed their launches here compared to the rest of the world).

Haven't heard of any of the crazy violence here unlike the PS3 launch in the States, but if you're after some Wii violence, check out www.smashmywii.com.

Unfortunately I've spent my hard earned cash on a 360 in March, so I won't have the ultimate Wii60 system just yet (christmas is coming up, wink wink nudge nudge). The two systems are in a different league anyway, thanks to Nintendo's 'disruptive innovation' so I'm not going to weigh into the 'Wii is better/360 is the best/PS3 kicks arse' debate.

In the mean time, I'll be raiding a mate's place soon given he picked up his console today Big Smile. Hopefully there won't be any tv-smashing incidents, especially when playing Wii Sports Bowling...
